3 Hour Chills

[Mood:] Recovering
[Music:]We Are The Involuntary” by Underøath
[Novel:] The Dialogues of Plato by Plato

This morning I went to meet up my group for English around 11 AM. We had to break down this passage that was so philosophical, it just..confused me a whole lot but it’s a good thing the group & I picked apart the passage so we could actually understand what was going on. o_O We didn’t get sidetracked or anything..alright take that back, we had a 5 minute break. We came up with fun things to do when we’d present our passage to the class.

After when I got home, I started burning up & I had the biggest headache. I wrapped myself with a blanket because I felt so cold. My mom told me it was hot & she told me that I had the flu. I went downstairs to take two pills of Tylenol & slept it off. What the heck at my 3 hour flu?!?! I guess my immune system fought it off because I feel a lot better now. :)

New affiliate: Katrina. For some reason, it seems like a bunch of affiliates are just dying. I think I’ve lost 3 already.

So I’ve decided to post up that book I was writing. I’ve written two chapters so far but the third chapter will come easily. I have it all planned out but it might take a while for me to actually get there since I’m so busy with things these days. The story is called Undeniable. I don’t expect anyone to read it or anything. It’s like an actual book so duh, expect it to be long. There’s one entry in which it is particularly long because the character does go off on a rant, but you can’t blame her. You would too if something like that happened to you. I only put up Chapter 1. It’s kind of a tester for now. If I get any feedback/constructive criticism, that’ll be great. I’m hoping to cut down on the rant because it is a long read. It gets tiring after awhile & I don’t want that! [Yeah uh don't read it for now, it's up there but I need to change the really long entry. I need to chop it up. It's poorly written.] Anything & everything is subject to change. :D

Music Review

I’ve always been a fan of underOATH for some time now. I knew about them before they exploded within the “underground” music scene, kind of like how I knew about Metro Station before they got all over MTV. Every one of their shows these days are totally booked unless you buy tickets way ahead of time. They’re amazing performers & I’ve seen them play twice. I think the song that got me hooked to them was “When The Sun Sleeps” off their album, The Changing of Times. This was back when they had a different lead singer & Spencer Chamberlain was not apart of the band. Their new album with Spencer, They’re Only Chasing Safety was actually a big hit. I fell in love with it. I’d have to say that they did kind of go a little soft compared to their older material. I didn’t mind though because I really enjoyed the electronic aspects of it. Then they released Define The Great Line which was seriously amazing. I noticed that Define The Great Line was a lot heavier than their previous album which was a good thing since it meant they were going back to their roots. Now, the much anticipated album, Lost In The Sound of Separation, was released & there have been several people who have made comments that the album got a lot heavier. These comments proved true; underOATH has taken another step toward their older roots before Spencer, toward the more “hardcore” aspect, if you will. Either way, I love it. The album is nonetheless fantastic. Less keyboard & more rock. That sounds so lame, but seriously, I love their refined sound. I loved the new sound they went for on their They’re Only Chasing Safety album, it really was wonderfully executed, but I’m ultimately a sucker for their heavier songs. Their new album is just that. If you’re a fan of hardcore, go for it. If not, stick to Metro Station or Jonas Brothers (Which is not rock but pop, no offense. Guitars don’t mean ish). Let’s not confuse hardcore with Brutal. Brutal/Metalcore/Deathcore is not music. The new album by underOATH is nothing short of amazing. They really never cease to disappoint me. They always deliver & this new album really delivers. I think they’ve tried to find their sound & experimented a lot..but this new album is definitely the direction they should be headed in, without a doubt.
Songs to Download:We Are The Involuntary” or “Desperate Times, Desperate Measures

Don’t download those songs if you’re not a fan of heavy music.

Hard Fest

[Mood:] Tiredddd
[Music:]Ecstasy” by ATB
[Novel:] Betrayed by P.C. Cast + Kristin Cast

Alright so I keep jumping novels but I’m in between Twilight & Betrayed as of right now. I just received Betrayed in the mail so I had to read it. :D I also received American Beauty as well. I read Twilight until I fell asleep the other night. I was operating on 3 hours of sleep. x_x Let me tell you about Hard Fest.

July 19
Went to Bryan’s house awaiting for everyone to get there & then head off to L.A. but since Bryan, Kevin, Kim, & Vy took awhile, Elise, Duc, & I went to 7-11 to get some food & drinks. Then it was off to L.A. & we got frustrated because these stupid L.A. bizzos that I let borrow my phone told us that we were standing in the Will Call line when we asked them if we were or weren’t. Then we realized that we were in the line that required you to have your ticket to get in & we had to go stand in the Will Call line that was on the far left side but cut. Then we had to WAIT AGAIN in the damn line that those stupid L.A. bizzos told us was the “Will Call” line. We saw DJ Felli Fel, Jason Bentley, LA Riots, Steve Aoki, N*E*R*D, MSTRKRFT, & The Bloody Beetroots. Out of all of them, Felli Fel was the worst. :emo: Why? Because you go to Hard Fest to hear electronica not R&B/Hip-Hop/Top 40s BS with a so called “electronica” backtrack. Everyone else was beyond AMAZING. There is never any need to take any sort of substance, Music gets me High. B) The festival was amazing. One could smell definitely smell weed . . . & we were all pissed when VIP (VIP ticket was $150ish) decided to block our view onstage & started drunk dancing &/or dancing in the most disgustingly disturbing way. Skanks dirty dancing = gross. :yuck: We couldn’t see Steve Aoki because of them but a staff person cleared them off temporarily since they resumed later. -_- The outfits people wore were either totally FRSH, Indie, Chic, or straight up American Apparel BS. By that I mean they wore things you’d normally never wear in public unless it’s an electronica festival. o_O

How to dress like them: bright neon pink tights + flashy gold sparkly shorts + half of a neon yellow colored tube top + a headband. Oh, don’t forget your sunglasses that aren’t needed because it’s friggin’ night.

We left at 4:25ish (this is in the AM) then went to eat. The guys + Elise went to see The Dark Knight. I went home to sleep. I drank the rest of that one energy drink that you have to be 18 to buy called Spike so I only slept 3 hours. It was 6AM when I got home. z_z

July 20
Woke up at 9AM & finished Back In Black. I wrote an I’m Sorry letter to my parents for coming home so “late”. My parents weren’t mad at me if you were wondering. ^_^ Pearl Huang came over to my house to hang out for a little & I let her borrow Marked. Then I went to go see The Dark Knight with Vy & her family. It was an amazing movie. :lust: GO WATCH IT. :D

July 21!
Went to OCC to turn in my music portfolio then to Baskin Robins to buy Krissy some ice cream since she told me her leg has been acting up. :( Hung out at her house for a little & then followed her to work so I could get me some Starbucks & food at the mall. Duc joined me shortly after & we got food. Then we went to South Coast Plaza for job applications. I did some shopping at H&M because I need more shirts & their clothes are always cheap. :) Have you ever fell in love with a mannequin before? That’s what happened to me at Club Monaco even though the mannequin didn’t even have a face! :flip: I swear, the things I’d do to a guy if he wore that outfit…… hehehehohohohahaha. ;) Went to Urban Outfitters to get a job application & to visit Khristina! I was filling out job applications but I decided to just fill out a couple since Barneys, Steve Madden, & Club Monaco require resumes & the only job experience I have is working at my uncle’s pharmacy. What’s the BFD?! They’re expensive semi-high end stores but they aren’t Chanel or Louis Vuitton. GOODNESS.

If I got hired sometime down the line at Barneys. . .I’d be so flattered. :toast: Not only would I be getting discounts on the best brand names but it would mean that I’d be considered good looking enough to work there. Honestly, they’re a lot worse than Abercrombie ever was before their law suit. I didn’t bold that POS store because it holds no importance in the fashion world. I’m not sorry that I offended anyone, you need to shop elsewhere if that is the ONLY store you shop at…unless you’re in junior high. :lazy:

I need to apply to the following: Bloomingdales, Loehmann’s, The Closet, American Apparel, Kabuki, Ron Hermann, Ladonna, Saks Fifth Avenue, & Nordstrom’s.

Sameszies?!

[Mood:] Meow!
[Music:]Yeah Yeah Yeah V2” by Jack Conte
[Novel:] Dracula by Bram Stoker

Vs.

Vincent told me that one of his friend’s friend is in this band called Millionaires. I checked it out & I realized they’re those really popular scene kids/myspace whores who happen to be everyone’s friend. Not Tila Tequila status or anything, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they get “mainstreamed“…& I wouldn’t be surprised if they got a reality TV show on MTV. They have semi-catchy tunes but all of their songs sound exactly the same with different lyrics. Maybe it’s what they were going for? I mean, props too them but..it seemed to me that they sound a lot similar to Uffie. If you don’t see the comparison, you’d have to listen to one of Steve Aoki’s mixes with Uffie. To be more specific, “Low Life (L.A. Riots Remix, Feat. Uffie, with Scanners” or “Tthhee Ppaarrttyy“. Personally, I like Uffie better.

Vs.

First of all, if you haven’t already heard of Steve Aoki, you should go check him out because his mixes are amazing. He recently released an album titled Pillowface And His Airplane Chronicles. Honestly, go buy his album to support this talented celebrity DJ. He’s been seen DJing with Lindsay Lohan, DJ AM, Uffie, Dangermouse, etc. The list goes on, he’s famous in the clubs for a reason. His mixes have been playing on my iTunes, iPod, & car for two months straight. I can’t get enough. When I listened to Justice’s album, (Cross) I was honestly so disappointed. I expected it to be just as good as Aoki’s but was greatly disappointed. They mix their own tracks but they don’t make you really want to get up to dance. They often get repetitive or just straight up boring. There are a couple of alright songs, despite the fact that Steve Aoki’s mixes may not be tracks he composed from scratch, they don’t just one-up Justice’s originals, they’re a lot better than the originals. Too sad.

Vs.

MSTRKRFT > Justice. I’m sorry, they’re just not that good. MSTRKRFT’s mixes are just amazing, they’re right up there with Aoki. I couldn’t tell you which DJ I preferred but Justice is just disappointing. Maybe if they pray a little harder that they’ll attain skills such as Aoki and/or MSTRKRFT, maybe they’ll get better. For now, they can sell the Christian DJ thing all they want, it’s already beyond outplayed by rock bands. With quotes like this:

“We wanted to try to turn the club or the venue into a church, so it was very natural for us to use the cross,” says Auge, on the phone last week from a tour stop in Dallas. “We’re just trying to make everything a bit more exciting than just two guys behind their laptops.”

…you know my assumptions are correct. Turning a club into a church? Come on now, people go to church to rid their sins & go to clubs to sin. I mean honestly, it would make more sense if you saw this episode of South Park called Faith + 1. It’s basically when Eric Cartmen starts a Christian band because he knows that the Christian fan base is beyond overwhelming so he reasons it’s the only way to get famous fast. Despite the fact that Eric isn’t even Christian to begin with. Think about it.
