Yesterday I watched the show Fringe. It’s crazy. The beginning of the first episode was really gross. I give them props. Their special effects were ridiculous. It didn’t even look fake. I also watched the Vice Presidential Debate which was interesting. The questions asked were really good ones. I never knew much about Joe Biden but now I do so it’s really great that he proved himself a great candidate. Palin’s really good at winking & avoiding questions while answering another one she created. Although I wonder what the debate would have been like if Hillary Clinton debated. That would’ve been INTENSE. I think Hillary would’ve gone ballistic & bitch slapped Palin.

My English professor told the class that the government has decided to cut funds so the budget for community colleges has been reduced. 20% of the classes offered at my school will be cut. Since when does it make sense to cut funds from education? I’m so outraged. If California is in debt, we need to figure out another way to dig ourselves out which doesn’t include cutting funds to public education.

The bailout plan got passed. According to a poll on CNN, 75% said that the bailout won’t help the crisis. I personally don’t think the plan will help the economy in the long run. In my honest opinion, it will only benefit Wall Street & not Main Street. I read some of the bill (it’s really long). It has good intentions (duh) but there is a lot of room for it to destroy more than create. Did you know that a woman shot herself when the police were trying to evict her from her house because she couldn’t pay for her mortgage? That’s when you know things are bad. I mean, if this doesn’t strike you as crazy, what does? On a brighter side, scientists want to build an elevator to space!

Evan & I have been talking about humane ways to put down a fish in pain. Apparently, it’s mixing in clove oil. So learn from my mistake, don’t flush your fishy down the toilet! Or you could chop off it’s head but I don’t have the stomach for that.

I got back my grade for my in-class essay for English–I got an A! YEAYUH. Now the only classes I have to worry about are Political Science & Calculus. I got an A on my Psychology test! It’s way easy though. Here’s another dreadful to-do list. Don’t expect any updates until this load is done.

I should be working on my reading response right now. I will be right after I post this blog, GAH I hate myself for always procrastinating. I watched The Sum Of All Fears today (on DVD) because I was bored. I never understood it when it first came out & I only saw parts of it. It’s a pretty good movie. Ben Affleck naw mean? Tom Clancy can seriously write…especially if all of his books have become either movies or video games. That guy must be loaded.

Anyway, I’ve gained a new affiliate. Yay me! So Cindy has recently launched her site called Distant Memories. You guys should check it out! They’re looking for affiliates so now’s your chance!

Ahh, my to-do list. You’ll never see the end of this until I’m finished with it. Mwuahaha. I’m constantly crossing things off of it & adding new things to do on it. Hopefully a lot more will be crossed off by tonight.

Man, every time I go to CNN.com, I always spend over an hour reading all their top articles. This needs to stop, I mean it’s great I stay informed & all but I need to do my homework.

Last night I finished Masquerade by Melissa De La Cruz & found it actually quite a good follow-up to Blue Bloods. I’m anxious for her next book! I also made sushi yesterday for my cousin, Carol & Bryan. It was delicious! I was too lazy to run upstairs to grab my camera to take pictures of it. For dessert, I made Banana Flombay which turned out really well! My dad added rum & the banana lit into a blue flame when he dipped the pan into the fire, it tasted better. Today I went over to Alex Nguyen’s house & his mom made dinner for a bunch of people. It definitely hit the spot! Alex was practically slaving away at his mother’s commands due to..well me! My bad, I wanted some lemonade & I was going to get up & get some myself but his mom made him get it for me.

Sorry I haven’t commented anyone in a while , I’ve been really preoccupied & worried that I might miss some sort of deadline for my classes but I think everything will turn out to be okay as soon as I get my books. Boy, they are taking forever to be delivered. This weekend aka Thursday, I’ll work on a new layout. If that doesn’t take up too much time (which I’m sure it will ), I’ll add more layouts. I’ve been meaning to!

Bristol Palin is pregnant & the media is having a field day. There is no word about how the boyfriend feels or if he is her boyfriend, although he is being forced to marry her. It said that she would marry the father of her child but sometimes things don’t always work out. There is a chance she could encounter a divorce since they are so young. I honestly hope he loves her enough to marry her. They are only so young. Broken families are never fun. She’s 5 months along & although the press has stated that her family is being supportive, I’m pretty sure they were greatly disappointed with her at some point. Plus, it’s all just a cover up. Anything to make light out of a difficult situation.

You know what? I blame the family. Her mom advocates Abstinence-only teachings in schools which is LUDICROUS since she forgot to mention to her kid how to protect herself in case she does do it before marriage! How could you teach that BS?! Are you kidding me? No matter what the heck you tell kids not to do, THEY’LL DO IT! Kids are damn well curious. Look, I’m not saying it’s stupid to save it for marriage but you can’t just teach JUST that in schools; you have to teach what’s the best thing (not to have sex at all until you’re ready) & if they do have sex before marriage, what they should know to do to protect themselves. The best thing to teach children in school: Listen, if you’re going to do it, use protection & not just birth control but a condom as well. The safest sex is no sex at all but if you’re going to do it, use a damn condom to prevent yourself from getting diseases & getting prego. Conservatives need a reality check. Their ideology shouldn’t even exist. Let me clarify, if you’re going to bash something like gay marriage, don’t use arguments like, “it’s not natural”, “it’s not holy”, “it will ruin society”, “it will destroy the holiness of marriage”, or “it’s against the word of God”. The thing is, if you’re going to debate against why gay marriage shouldn’t exist, do not use religion, use a legitimate reason. But too bad there isn’t any because we’re humans & we should be allowed to marry someone we love, no matter what the gender. Marriage isn’t that “holy” anyway. With a 60% divorce rate in this country & Vegas style marriages, how in the world is that holy? This nation was founded upon secular beliefs, beliefs to separate the church & state. The word “God” shouldn’t even be printed on our currency. 1st Amendment, freedom of religion, hello!

On another note, I think it’s ridiculous how people are taking so much out of this pregnancy such as the Evangelicals trying to praise Palin for upholding her Pro-Life sentiments. It’s disgusting how they find any means possible to try to make good come out of this situation when they look down so much on pre-marital sex. They’re campaigning her pregnancy & they really need to just leave her out of it & just focus on her mother. Like, “yayyy she didn’t save herself for marriage but she didn’t kill her baby either! yayyy!!!!” Man, you guys make me sick. She’s 5 months pregnant, it’s way overdue for an abortion. She obviously decided to keep the baby a long time ago. It’s just like them to be hypocrites. But then again, we’re all hypocrites.

I’ve only had this wordpress deal up and running for about a month & I’ve already finished a new layout for it. I’m happy! I don’t know what I will do with the other layout, I guess I’ll just make it available for others to use later on but that is going to take some time, especially because I have a bunch of layouts that need to be re-coded and re-edited since my host Alex Nguyen has changed sites from xelasfx.com to the current alexqn.com. I’m really happy about the way this layout turned out. I love you, wordpress<3.
